Nurse Manager Geriatric Psych Unit – Nevada
Permanent Full-Time
Job Description:
Responsible for direction of patient care activities in the Gero-Psychiatric Unit. Manages staff and provide management of operational and nursing activities. Consult with staff, physicians and the Nurse Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are met. Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral. Formulates an annual budget for the unit.
Required Qualifications:
- ASN
- Current NV RN licensure
- Current BLS certification
- 2 years exp required with geriatric psychiatric patients
- 1+ yr management experience

Job Description:
The Physician Advisor is a physician serving the hospital through teaching, consulting, and advising the care management and utilization review departments and the hospital leadership. The Physician Advisor shall develop expertise on matters regarding physician practice patterns, over and under-utilization of resources, medical necessity, levels of care, care progression, denial management, compliance with governmental and private payer regulations, appropriate physician coding and documentation requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Hold and maintain an unrestricted medical license in the state of New Jersey.
- Board Certification (base specialty) recognized by ABMS or ABQAURP
Master Degree
- Familiarity with MCG/Interqual placement status criteria is preferred
- 2+ years experience
