Works in a clinical capacity to facilitate smooth functioning of the department when necessary
– Regular Full Time Manager Emergency Dept
– Required–Two (2) years ER RN experience and 2 years in a leadership role
– Graduation from an accredited School of nursing required.
– Required—BSN Degree. Masters degree preferred.
– Successful completion of management courses/education program preferred

This position is accountable for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Pre and Post Operative Services. Responsible for collaborating with the Director, Managers, Coordinators, surgeons, anesthesia, and staff regarding the planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the objectives to ensure the optimal delivery of safe care and services to all patients in the surgical environment. Collaborates with Pre-Op/PACU, other nursing and inter-departmental department for the management of day to day operations. Maintains and participates in performance improvement activities within the department.

5+ years of experience in Pre and/or Post Operative nursing

The Clinical Nurse Manager of surgical services will ensure the clinical excellence of the nursing unit managing the safe quality patient care. The manager works closely with nursing administrative directors, clinical ladder nurses, and the quality department monitoring the clinical performance of his or her operating unit.
Some of the major job functions include but are not limited to:
Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychological needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
Assesses the educational needs of the department to include planning, implementing and evaluating competencies.
Obtains, evaluates, and monitors quality measures.
Mentors Clinical 4 RNs
Manages the staffing and schedule of the operational unit.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors in Nursing
Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia
Minimum of five years recent experience in Surgical Service
Minimum of two years recent charge and/or management experience.

Ability to make independent decisions while maintaining tact, maturity and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment required in assuming responsibilities.
HOURS: Nigh Shift 7P-7A; holiday and weekend requirements
Emergency Room RN Requirements:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
ACLS and BLS
2+ years of experience as an RN in an Emergency Department in an acute care facility.
