Job Description:

The anesthesia practice is hospital-based, with the CRNA’s working in an independent care model to include consultation and direct patient care. Scope and standards of practice are as defined by the AANA. The patient population both inpatient and outpatient will range from pediatric to geriatric. The caseload includes: General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN to include labor analgesia, Urology, ENT, Podiatry, Endo/GI, Dental, Ophthalmology. Regional anesthesia skills expected. Currently there is no neurosurgery, cardiac, vascular, or elective critical neonates. Will be involved in hospital wide quality assessment, hold committee appointments, interface with other hospital departments and participate in educational projects. VT CRNA license required. ACLS and PALS required. Vermont State APRN license required. Current DEA license and recertification by NBCRNA, ACLS, and PALS. Must assume on-call duties and must live less than 30 minutes from the hospital to meet call duties.

Job Description: 

The Director is responsible for the leadership, successful operations, and quality of the service at the facility and facilitates the integration and teamwork of all for optimal care of patients.  Works in conjunction with the facility administrative staff and clinical staff to ensure the highest level of care for patients, and ensures that all services provided meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines.  The Director works with physicians to adopt and incorporate quality initiatives, understand economic considerations, and increase physician/hospital alignment.  Responsible for development of strategic and tactical plans to maximize the effectiveness of L&D services at the facility. This includes budget planning and management (capital and operational).

Job Requirements:

  • BSN; Master’s Degree preferred or obtained within 3 yrs
  • Active State License
  • 3+ yrs Nurse Manager experience in a high volume L&D position (appx 3,000 deliveries per year)
