Qualifications of Director of Clinical Quality Improvement:

  • Current FL RN license
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CPHQ, CCM Certification
  • Five (5) years experience in quality management, risk management or the evaluation of clinical services in a hospital setting
  • Current knowledge of Joint Commission, ACHA and Federal regulations

Demonstrates knowledge of performance improvement, outcomes and quality management, utilization management, discharge planning, medical staff functioning and outcomes management

The Supervisor of Blood Bank manages the technical and organizational operational aspects of the blood bank department section for efficient, cost effective and timely production of medical diagnostic test results and availability of patient blood products. Assumes responsibility for procedural and system controls, problem solving, teaching and staff supervision. Produces medical diagnostic test results in an efficient and cost effective manner for stat and routine specimens. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs instruments and laboratory equipment if possible. Maintains all necessary quality control, quality assurance and department repair records as required by accreditation agencies. Manages the training of new employees and students. Segregates laboratory wastes according to established policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • BS/BA Degree in Laboratory Science
  • MT (ASCP) certified or other recognized professional accreditation association
  • 2-5 yrs experience. 6+ yrs experience preferred with three years prior supervisor experience.
