 DESCRIPTION
Plans, organizes, and directs the administrative and technical activities of the unit/department, including personnel management, financial management, strategic outreach to physicians, and administrative functions that relate to quality patient-care services. Creates an effective working relationship with all levels of staff and peers, represents the department on institutional committees, develops long-range objectives, and prepares for any changes in healthcare delivery. The Director translates strategies into day-to-day operations Participates with administration leaders, medical staff and clinical representatives in developing Cottage Health’s mission, strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, community outreach, operation plans and policy making decisions and takes action consistent with the accepted standards and values of the hospital. Operates department in compliance with Joint Commission and/or other regulatory agency requirements. Oversees the management of assigned department budgets including capital, personnel and expense budgets.  Participates in developing and implementing mechanisms for collaboration between staff members, physicians, and other clinical practitioners.
Requirements: 
Current California RN License Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing  
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification 
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and practices.Knowledge of supervisory theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods. 

5 years of progressively responsible clinical/administrative experience or comparable experience that provides knowledge and skills essential to the position responsibilities-Ambulatory/Out Patient Surgery Experience

Job Description: Responsible for direction of patient care in the operative environment. Manages staff members in the Ambulatory Surgery, Surgery and recovery departments. Consults with staff and physicians on nursing issues and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Formulates budget for department. Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program. Sufficient previous experience in nursing administration or high-level supervisory capacity. Current Colorado state Registered Nurse Licensure; ACLS, BLS NRP, PALS and TNCC. Nursing administration and personnel administration courses/training preferred. Management and mathematical computational skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Strong written and verbal skills. Must possess computer knowledge and skills. Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated. Must be able to share an on call schedule.
