DIRECTOR SURGICAL SERVICES
Description: Responsible for managing department functions in the operating room, same day surgery, GI lab, PACU & central/sterile to facilitate effective and efficient operation. To maximize patient’s level of comfort and function. Current State of California RN license
BSN required, Master’s preferred
3 - 5 years relevant experience in the operating room and progressive leadership experience 2 years’ experience with an open heart program performing a minimum of 100 cases a year
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Responsible for coordination of patient care in the perioperative environment. Manages staff members in the Preoperative Units and Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU). Consults with staff, physicians and Surgical Services Director on nursing issues and interpretation of hospital and unit policies and procedures to ensure patient needs are met. Actively participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Formulates budget for the Preoperative and PACU.

Minimum Qualifications:
•Associates Degree or qualified as a Medical Technologist under HHS and Qualified to perform highly complex testing per CLIA 88 personnel guidelines.
•Three years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
•Currently registered or eligible for ASCP (MT or MLT), NCA, AMT, HHS/HEW. If Eligible registry must be obtained within one-year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
•BS Medical Technology. Management experience.
•CPR •SBB Specialty Blood Bank Certification
